Recent Portraits by Isaac Peters Photography
I have control of the computer again!!! Well... for the time being. I wanted to share the recent portrait projects that I have been working on. Before doing so, a big thank you goes out to our friends who have been so graciously tolerating me snapping away in front of them. Let's start with Belma. I had never done a maternity shoot before, but I managed to pull off a few decent photos without having any prior knowledge as to how to manage one. For ideas I browsed through anything and everything under the search terms of 'Maternity Photoshoot' on Google. For the record, there's a ton of images on Google - in fact, I think maternity photos are 2nd only to wedding photos. Both have a vast array of styles depending on how the client and/or photographer is feeling that day. Since this was my very first shoot I decided to keep it simple and stick to the basics: 1) There needs to be a warm glow about the photos and 2) There needs to be a silhouette photo at some point in the set.
Next up, one of my old friends from junior high school and youth soccer reached out to see if I wouldn't mind taking some new LinkedIn profile photos for him. Again, never having done a corporate photoshoot, I figured why the heck not. Even if I don't get paid for it, at least I have exposure to more and more people and experiences. The following shots came from that session. I still have a ton to learn about proper lighting but for not having any external flash and relying solely on natural light, I am rather pleased at how these turned out.
Finally, Brittney and I had an impromptu date night yesterday at Home & Away Calgary Kitchen. On the way home we thought about taking photos for the style section of our blog. Instead of taking them inside, where the light might be too harsh or just plain terrible, we headed downtown. A lot of the newly built buildings use LED exterior lighting which I find to be a great substitute for not having a flash of my own. We also used an urban art piece as a backdrop and we're both excited about how these photos came out.
Thanks for reading. If you didn't happen to read and just browsed the pictures, thank you as well. All of my work can be viewed at

Almost forgot! I, for once, am in front of the camera! Shocking right? This is probably the only time that I have been in front of the camera without it being a skiing selfie. Just so you know, my helmet is full faced, and when I take any pictures while skiing, unless you knew who it was, you couldn't see my face.
No watermark on this one because I didn't take it! Brittney is quite a talented photographer too.
