Hello, I’m Brittney Peters.

I help folks rediscover joy & ease in their personal style through intentional curation—inspiring a more natural, connected way of moving through the world. As a textile artist, I craft garments and textiles with botanical dyes and natural fabrics, exploring how the clothes we choose to wear enrich our lives and our connection to the earth.

Services

Both a craft and a form of visible mending, botanical dyeing and sewing are slow, meditative processes, a balm for the soul in this digital age. Treasures created in this way are like talismans, an invitation to slow down and search for beauty in everyday moments.

Inspired by the beauty of nature, I craft garments that embrace imperfection and are made to be cherished as heirlooms, a reminder to take good care of our garments, ourselves, and the Earth that connects us all.

My Process

I work with locally grown, foraged, and salvaged plants. By growing and gathering my own plants, and collaborating with Calgary chefs, florists, and herbalists, I turn waste into wearable works of art. Occasionally, I’ll play with ethically sourced dyes from Maiwa to create unique colours.

To reduce dye matter and water consumption, the exhaust vats are recharged to create truly unique colours.

2

The natural fabrics I work with are upcycled, deadstock or sustainably sourced.

3

Some of the garments I work with are upcycled, giving them new life. I have also created & sew a line of size-inclusive, versatile pieces flow and change with the body, comforting rather than constricting.
